A 490uW Fully MICS Compatible FSK
Transceiver for Implantable Devices

Abstract
A low power fully MICS compatible FSK transceiver for implantable devices is implemented in 0.18um CMOS technology with 0.7V supply. The Q-enhancement LNA attenuates image and adjacent channels more than 30 and 13dB, respectively, eliminating the necessity of I/Q LO generation and poly-phase filter. The DCO replaces the frequency synthesizer to reduce the power consumption and to eliminate the XO. Thanks to the simplified architecture, the proposed transceiver consumes 490uW with a data rate of 250kb/s, corresponding to energy consumption of 1.96nJ/b.
