A Micro-power EEG Acquisition SoC with Integrated Seizure Detection Processor for Continuous Patient Monitoring
Abstract
A seizure detection SoC is presented, integrating a low-power instrumentation amplifier, ADC, and digital feature-extraction processor to non-invasively acquire a patient's EEG, and derive critical spectral features to detect the onset of epileptic seizures. Local processing overcomes the prohibitive power-cost of wireless on-scalp monitoring by reducing the transmission data-rate by 43x, improving patient safety. The one-EEG-channel SoC consumes 9uJ per feature-vector, which are generated at a rate of 0.5Hz. |
