About The Symposia
The first Symposium on VLSI Technology was held in 1981 as an international conference on current semiconductor research, development and manufacturing. The Symposium has alternated between sites in Japan and US. In 1987, the first Symposium on VLSI Circuits was held in conjunction with the Symposium on VLSI Technology as an open forum on circuit and system implementation. These two Symposia now cover very wide area related VLSIs, and are cosponsored by the Japan Society of Applied Physics, the IEEE Electron Devices Society and the IEEE Solid State Circuits Society in corporation with the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers.
For many reasons, two Symposia are strongly linked for providing opportunity to stimulate discussion between technology and circuit people. This mutual discussion augments with invited talks, short courses and rump sessions. Banquet, breakfasts and coffee breaks are arranged for making good atmosphere for informal discussion.
In 1999, the Symposia will come back to the Rihga
Royal Hotel Kyoto, Kyoto Japan from the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Honolulu
Hawaii. You can enjoy not only the Symposia but also the historical sites
in Kyoto before and after the Symposia.
