Satoshi Inaba - 2017 Technology Symposium Chair
On behalf of the organizing committee, it is my great pleasure to invite you to attend the 2017 Symposium on VLSI Technology and the Technology Short Course to be held from June 5th to June 8th, 2017 at Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto in Kyoto, Japan.
For more than 35 years, Symposium on VLSI Technology has been one of the world’s premier technical conferences on semiconductor integrated circuits and microelectronics, offering the opportunity for the attendees to learn the state-of-the art semiconductor science and technology for VLSI.
In 2017, for the first time, we will have three-day overlapped program with the 2017 Symposium on VLSI Circuits at the same location. We have also set the common theme for 2017 Symposia as “Harmonious Integration toward Next Dimensions“. We expect that the harmonious and tight co-optimization between device technology & circuit design, and/or the harmonious collaboration among various industries could generate some extra dimensions to keep the continuous growth of our VLSI community. We hope Symposium on VLSI Technology could be a driving force to initiate such “Harmonious Integration“, which will bring us a new world and innovative progress on our life.
The symposium programs are designed to provide the topics both from technology and circuit design aspects, which will be presented by the experts from both industry and academia. Joint Focus Sessions, Joint Evening Panel Discussion and Joint Banquet will be planned to stimulate the discussion and networking between technology people and circuit & system people. Several invited papers are also planned in Joint Focus Sessions and Technology Focus Sessions along with the key topics, such as “Design in scaled technologies“, “Design enablement“, “Embedded memories“, “3D and heterogeneous integration“ and so on. All attendees can join the technical sessions of both symposia with a single registration.
Two satellite workshops, “2017 Silicon Nanoelectronics Workshop“ and “2017 Spintronics Workshop on LSI“, will be held at the same location in prior to the technical sessions of the Symposium on VLSI Technology. These workshops will help you to understand the related science and technology in microelectronics.
I hope you will encourage your colleagues to submit the contributed papers in all aspects of the VLSI Technology, and I also hope you will come to join the symposium.
I look forward to welcoming you to beautiful, cultural and traditional Kyoto in June 2017.
